Fourth of July

This year we joined the city of Kirkland's 4th of July parade as part of the "kiddie parade." Last year we were just spectators so this was a new patriotic experience! The girls enjoyed waving their flags and decorating their "floats." Kenzie rode in the stroller (and in the wagon with her friend Ari) but Kayla braved the crowds and rode her bike. We completed about half the parade route and then a shady spot called out to us and we settled down to watch the city parade that followed.

Grandma and Poppy's neighborhood block party is always a 4th of July favorite with the girls. After dinner Rich lit off fireworks for the neighborhood kids. Kayla loved the fireworks show but after a few loud surprises Kenzie opted to watch the fireworks from inside Grandma and Poppy's house.
