Fall Highlights

The Fall season (one of our favorites in Washington) seemed to pass very quickly this year. Here are a few highlights from the last few months.
Walks through the Seattle Arboretum are a favorite activity every October. I grew up visiting the Arboretum each Fall and it is always special to be able to share these memories with the girls. If you catch the Arboretum on the right weekend the leaves on the trees are beautiful and the ground is covered with enough leaves for a great jumping pile. Kayla and Kenzie had a blast running along the open trails and looking for colorful leaves to take home.

Watching the salmon run was a fun treat this year. Somehow this was the first time we have seen this, even though this was our third fall in Washington and we have a creek less than two miles from our house. It really was an amazing process to witness first hand. Kyle was visiting for the weekend which made the outing even more fun! (I think it may have been Kyle's idea)

Both the girls had field trips to the pumpkin patch this fall. Between their class trips and other fall outings we ended up with six pumpkins on our porch this year.

Kayla decided she would be a cheerleader for Halloween when she got a cheer costume for her birthday in August. Kenzie, of course, thought the ideas was great as well. We had a blast trick-or-treating at Grandma and Poppy's house and with a big group of kids in our neighborhood. Our little cheerleaders were already looking forward to trick-or-treating next year when they woke up the next day.
