Roommate Weekend

Crissy, Mandy and I had our annual "Roommate Weekend" in Southern California this year. It was such a blessing to spend time together, relax at the beach, and eat Mediterranean food in Long Beach. I love that Kayla and Kenzie were able to spend time with Mandy and Crissy as well. These life long friends mean so much to me.

Crissy's friend Laura lives on beautiful garden property in Costa Mesa and generously let us spend time at her home over the weekend. Kayla and Kenzie picked berries, apricots and flowers and chased the bunnies that lived in the garden as well.

Since we were in California for the weekend we figured we needed to stay a few extra days and visit the Happiest Place on Earth. We decided to buy passes this time and we were able to spend two days at Disneyland and even some time at California Adventure. Jenna Humes joined us Sunday for a ride on Small World and the Bridgeford Boys met up with on Monday. We are already looking forward to our next visit. In Kayla's words "we have passes now so we can go all the time!" Unfortunately, there are those thousand miles in between our house and Disneyland.

Sunday was Father's Day and Rich was so great about spending his special day at one of the girls' favorite places. I think he had fun too!

Tom Sawyer's island is now a pirate adventure and we all had fun exploring with Jacob, Nathan and Jackson.

Kayla and Kenzie love Jackson...he is such a good friend and role model!

No trip to California is complete without time at the beach. We visited the beach in the evening and loved the experience of being at the beach when it was so quiet and relaxing.

It was a busy 5 days but we all had a blast. One of these days we hope to take a vacation that is a little bit longer but for now we are so thankful for our short get-aways!
