Leavenworth, WA

After Kayla's birthday we took off for a long weekend, and "second annual" family get-away, in the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, Washington. We all enjoyed the warm weather, beautiful scenery, and breakfasts accompanied by the traditional horn blower. This same gentleman has been playing the horn every morning for 22 years at the Enzion hotel.

The mountain goats grazing along the town sidewalk were a big hit, as was the incredible miniature golf course down below. Kayla and Kenzie had a blast playing mini golf for the first time. Kayla carefully made sure her ball made it in each hole while Makenzie dropped her ball and club after the first three holes and spent her time running up and down the greens.

The trip highlight was the morning spent playing in the beautiful Wenatchee river. Grandma and the girls caught tadpoles while the boys played frisbee and Mommy had a little time to enjoy the sun. Next time we will definitely plan to tube down the river!

It looks like Kenzie may share Mommy's fondness for the sun and water! We are definitely a little sad that the sunny weather (as scarce as it has been over the last month) may be coming to an end in the next few weeks but we are thankful for the outings and trips we've been able to experience over the summer. We can't wait for our next family vacation!
