Roommate Reunion 2008- Lake Tahoe, CA

This past weekend we were able to spend three great days with my college roommates, Mandy and Crissy, at a wonderful cabin 30 minutes outside of Lake Tahoe. We have made sure to spend a weekend together every year since graduating and these girls mean the world to me. It was especially fun to meet Mandy's beautiful, one year old, daughter Paige this year and to watch Kayla and Kenzie become friends with Mandy's older son Colby. The girls were also very excited to see Crissy again and I think we might need to bring Crissy on all of our vacations...she is so good with the kids and they adore her.

The kids loved the woods and river around the cabin and had a great time exploring, hiking, climbing, and just getting dirty. On the second day Kayla told me that this trip was "even better than Disneyland." I'm so glad she could enjoy nature and lots of free time just to play. (I have a feeling it won't be long before she asks about Disneyland again though)

On Saturday we drove down to Lake Tahoe and loved the shallow water and warm weather. Kayla and Colby were determined to walk out as far as they could and Kenzie (as always) was entertained by playing in the sand.

We spent our last night roasting marshmallows and watching the stars come out. The cabin was an amazing place to do both and definitely something the girls will remember for a long time.

On the way back to Sacramento we stopped at a great farm called "Apple Hill" and enjoyed a lot of fall treats, face painting and, of course, pony rides.

Thank you Mandy for planning such a great trip. It looks like Sunriver, Oregon might be next in line. We can't wait to see everyone again!
