Kayla's preschool class had their end of the year field trip today. We met the class at Gold Creek Trout Farm and after a small lesson the kids all got to catch their own fish. They were equipped with a pole, net, bucket and bait and sent down to the pond. Thankfully, Mrs. G was an excellent helper since both Kayla and Kenzie insisted on having their own equipment and fishing on their own. It took us a few minutes to catch on (I had never been fishing before and really had no idea what I was doing) but once we found a good spot the trout were quick to bite! Both the girls caught fish and I actually managed to scoop them out of the water and get them into the buckets. Kayla, Kenzie and I all screamed both times we caught a fish. Kayla didn't even want to stand close to her bucket once the trout was flopping around inside. We had a blast but we are definitely not fishers. Luckily a dad on the trip was willing to remove the hooks from the fish once they were caught! I'm not sure I could have managed that.Friday, May 30, 2008

Fishing looks fun! I want my daddy to buy me the pink Dora fishing pole for when we go camping this summer...
Good job, girls!
