It is hard to believe it is that time of year again...but swimming lessons began today! It is always a little questionable to do outdoor swimming lessons in May, particularly when you live in Washington, but the weather cooperated today. (The pool is a comfortable 89 degrees, just in case!) Since I love being outside I just could not settle for giving the girls indoor swimming lessons.

Both of the girls were very excited for lessons to start. This is Kayla's third year taking lessons at Northwest
Aerials, and
Kenzie's second. The program uses a series of floats to teach the kids to swim. As the kids progress the floats are gradually removed. Kayla no longer swims with floats but since each child is worked with individually the girls can still be in the same class. It works out pretty well!
Kenzie's major accomplishments today were floating on her back and jumping in the pool three times. Last year these same things were met with incredible
pleading and crying. (Okay she did cry when it was time to jump today but she still had a great lesson and was very proud of herself)

Both our girls love the water and we are all really excited for the next three or four months we will be able to spend playing at the pool and the lake!

I can't wait for mine to start again.
The girls look like they had fun - can't wait to see them this weekend.
